Twende Mara na Crown Paints: Celebrating Craftsmanship, Community & Excellence in the Maasai Mara
A Rewarding Experience Beyond the Worksite
Crown Paints brought together its top-performing painters for the Twende Mara na Crown Paints experience, held from 8th to 10th April in the iconic Maasai Mara. Painters from Nairobi, Meru, Kisumu, Kisii, and across Kenya stepped away from their everyday worksites to connect, learn, and celebrate their craft in one of the country’s most breathtaking landscapes.
A Strong Start from Leadership
The journey was officially flagged off by Vice Chairman Hussein Ramji and Group CEO Mustafa Turra, setting the tone for a memorable and impactful experience. From the scenic drive through the Rift Valley to the expansive plains of the Maasai Mara, the trip blended adventure with a strong sense of community and shared purpose.
Driving Professional Growth and Innovation
At the heart of the experience was a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. The programme featured a dedicated painters’ conference, including product demonstrations of Crown Plast Waterproof Skimcoat and Rainprotek. These sessions provided hands-on insights into product application, performance, and best practices in the field.
An interactive feedback session further enriched the experience, offering painters a platform to share real-world challenges, exchange ideas, and contribute directly to product innovation and improvement.
Recognising Excellence and Achievement
In recognition of their outstanding performance, all qualifying painters received Certificates of Achievement, commemorative mementos, and a group photo. These tokens not only celebrated individual excellence but also marked a shared journey of growth, dedication, and achievement.
Cultural Immersion and Meaningful Connections
Beyond the professional sessions, the experience embraced Kenya’s rich cultural heritage. A Maasai-style bonfire evening created a relaxed environment for networking and connection, featuring a traditional goat roast, storytelling, and cultural exchange.
Participants also visited a traditional Maasai homestead, engaging with local communities, learning about indigenous building practices, and gaining valuable cultural insights that enrich their understanding of craftsmanship.
Strengthening Partnerships and Building Community
Twende Mara na Crown Paints was more than a trip—it was a celebration of partnership, craftsmanship, and community. The initiative reinforced Crown Paints’ commitment to empowering painters, recognising excellence, and fostering long-term relationships that extend beyond the worksite.
