Information
Under chlorinated rubber finish, for protection of a variety of metal surfaces in food factories, bottling plants and other areas where a nontoxic, corrosion resistant system is desirable. Has poor solvent resistance hence not suitable for places with solvent splashes.
The product can be applied by: Brush, roller or spray Spreading Capacity per coat: Depends on film thickness applied, type of texture, surface porosity, imperfections, temperature & wastage during painting 7 - 9m2/l when applied on smooth surfaces. Maximum spread rate per coat is obtained at minimum dry film thickness and vice versa.
Iron and weathered Steel
Clean with White Spirit and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Allow to dry.
Sand with P120 – 180 sandpaper
1 coat Crown Chlorinated Rubber Zinc Phosphate Primer diluted up to 10% by volume with Chlorinated Rubber Thinner
1–2 coats Crown Chlorinated Rubber Paint
Galvanised Iron and Aluminium
Clean with White Spirit and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Allow to dry.
Sand with P120 – 180 sandpaper. Apply 1 coat Crown One Pack Etch Primer undiluted and overcoat within 1 month
1 coat Crown Chlorinated Rubber Zinc Phosphate Primer diluted up to 10% by volume with Chlorinated Rubber Thinner
1–2 coats Crown Chlorinated Rubber Paint
Previously painted surfaces
Remove loose/ flaking paint down to firm base. Sand with P120 – 180 sandpaper to provide key and dust off
Patch prime bare areas with Crown Chlorinated Rubber Zinc Phosphate Primer diluted up to 10% by volume with Chlorinated Rubber Thinner
