Information
Interior filling of dents and small cracks
Texturing of surfaces, sculpturing, and modelling
Repairing plaster cornices, picture frames, etc.
For exterior use, can be made into “Swedish Putty” by adding 10% gloss paint to a stiff paste
Substrates: Cement, gypsum plaster, wood, and other masonry surfaces before painting.
Thinner & equipment cleaner: Water
Mixing: Mix two parts Polyfilla to one-part water by volume and mix thoroughly with a spatula until homogeneous. A slightly stiffer mix can be used when filling deep cracks and holes and on very absorbent surfaces. For wood grain filling a little more water can be added to produce a creamy consistency, which can be brushed on. For filling cracks on walls, prior to the application of emulsion paint, Polyfilla can be thinned with the paint - this will assist obliteration by the paint.
Film thickness: Up to 5mm depth of cracks
Drying Times: Touch dry: 4 hours. Full cure 24 hours. Recoatable after 4hrs with water-based paint and after 24hrs with oil-based paint
The product can be applied by: Putty knife, spatula or trowel
Spreading Capacity per coat: Depends on film thickness applied, type of texture, surface porosity, imperfections, temperature & wastage during painting. Difficult to estimate as it depends on depth of the crack.
Easy to mix.
Excellent adhesion.
Does not shrink on setting hence can withstand nails and screws without cracking.
Easily sanded.
Can be overcoated with water and oil-based paints after drying.
