The future of architecture in Kenya just got a fresh coat of innovation.
On 13th February 2025, Crown Paints Kenya PLC officially signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Architects Alliance (TAA) at the Crown Xperience Center, Mustek.
The signing ceremony, officiated by Sen. Dr. (Arch) Sylvia Kasanga, President of TAA, and Tom Oyier, Head of Construction Sector at Crown Paints, marked the beginning of a powerful partnership designed to equip young architects with cutting-edge knowledge, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
Through this collaboration, architecture students from leading institutions, including the University of Nairobi, Technical University of Kenya, Kenyatta University, Technical University of Mombasa, and Jomo Kenyatta University, will gain exposure to paint innovation, sustainability, and ESG-driven advancements.
They will not only sharpen their design skills but also learn how to integrate sustainable practices and advanced coatings technology into the spaces they create.
Sen. Dr. (Arch) Sylvia Kasanga highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating:
“This partnership is more than an agreement; it’s a commitment to nurturing a generation of architects who will shape Kenya’s built environment through sustainability and innovation.”
Echoing the sentiment, Tom Oyier emphasized Crown Paints’ role as more than just a paint manufacturer:
“At Crown Paints, we provide solutions that enhance design, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. This MOU ensures that young architects have access to the tools they need to design the future.”
This collaboration is a bold step forward in creating a future where design meets quality, responsibility, and innovation. Together, Crown Paints and TAA are ensuring that Kenya’s next generation of architects are ready to lead the industry with creativity, sustainability, and impact.
Together, we’re painting the future, one brushstroke at a time.
