· Conduct a Clean, Dry, and Sound (CDS) test on the concrete surface.
· Perform a moisture test using a moisture meter. WB Primer can be applied on moist surfaces, but not wet surface.
· Relative air humidity (RH): <70%
· Prepare the surface through scarification, grinding, or shot blasting to achieve a profile of 150–200 microns.
· MIXING: First mix Component A- Resin part and Component B-Hardener part thoroughly, always add Component C- DM Water part after and keep mixing until uniform within the system. Always mix full pack sizes to avoid incorrect measure of ratio.
o Step:1-Mix 1 part Component A-Resin of CP FLOORTEK Waterborne Epoxy Primer with 2 parts of Component B- Hardener of CP FLOORTEK Waterborne Epoxy Primer. Always add Hardener into Resin and make sure to add Hardener part slowly while mixing Resin part.
o Step:2- Add 2 parts Component C- DM Water of CP FLOORTEK Waterborne Epoxy Primer, slowly to the above Component A-Resin and Component B-Hardener mix.
o Step:3-Use a mechanical mixer to ensure thorough and uniform mixing and avoid aeration when mixing the product. The appearance of mixed material is milky.
· PRIMING: The surfaces require appropriate preparation prior to the application of CP FLOORTEK Waterborne Epoxy Primer. The primer components should be mixed in the given proportions as supplied and it would be better to provide an induction time of 15 -20 minutes for the mixed material, before application. The ideal application temperature should be between 23 deg.C to 30 deg.C. After priming, the surface must be kept for drying- approximately 8-12 hrs. It is recommended to do a field trial prior to large scale application.
· APPLICATION: CP FLOORTEK Waterborne Epoxy Primer coat with approximately 10 m²/kg. Spread rate depends on porosity of substrate. Use a brush and roller to apply the product. We recommend using a lint free epoxy roller. If a second coat is required, must be applied within 24 hours of the application of the first coat to ensure the second coat will bite into the first coat. After 24 hours the first coat must be sanded prior application of the second coat to assure a sound adhesion between coats. Do NOT use after exceeding the pot life. Mixed batch will be still liquid but doesn’t provide appropriate adhesion anymore. Discard all leftover material. Do NOT pour mixed unused material back into the original containers as this will start the whole material to expire within the drum. Clean all equipment immediately, with water after the use
